Traditional estonian textiles

I have some old family photos with some beautiful estonian textiles, usually I see them hung on walls.
Like here:

https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/m ... directlink" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/P ... directlink" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or used as a bedcover here:
https://picasaweb.google.com/1002547110 ... 0136448594" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Does anyone know what these kind of textile/weaving technique is called? I think it's a really nice pattern, especially on the bedcover. Could the wallcovers actually be rugs?
Maybe someone knows more about these traditional estonian textile patterns, or customs of hanging textiles on walls like tapestries?
