Hi,

I'm trying to search information about family Lechter/Lehter.

My grandmother's father Georg Gottfried Lechter was born in Kanepi 1869.
I found his "birth" record from saaga (number 169 + Hurmi + Kundi?).

His father Peter Lehter (born 1844) was married with Julia Gänseberg (Hannimägi?, born 1842).

I also found the record for the wedding from saaga. Peter's father was Michel Lehter and Julia's father was Gustav Hannimäggi.
However, I couldn't find Peter from Kanepi books/1844.

Places names in saaga are: Hurmi, Keigel/Kergel, Rosenhof, Ulzen. Are
they all in Kanepi area?

Any suggestion how to continue is wellcomed

Those are all in Kanepi area, but Kergel and Uelzen belonged to Urvaste parish and Rosenhof to Rõuge parish. You can find the names of manors and to which parish they belonged to from http://www.eha.ee/andmed/search.php?type=mois
